In Brief: Deutsche Unit Hires Global Equities Exec

NEW YORK — Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown said Thursday that it had hired Louis Ricciardelli as senior adviser to the global equities division.

Mr. Ricciardelli was the chief executive officer and sole principal of BPB Associates Ltd., a consulting firm specializing in hedge fund, investment bank, and prime brokerage infrastructure. Deutsche Bank had used him as an adviser during its acquisition of Bankers Trust and its integration of Natwest’s equity derivatives business.

Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown said he will work with Jon Hitchon, the global head of prime brokerage at Deutsche Bank, to develop and refine their prime brokerage business infrastructure on a global basis.

Kevin Parker, head of global equities at Deutsche Bank, said hiring Mr. Ricciardelli “underscores our commitment to the equities business and to developing the global infrastructure that ensures our clients receive the full benefit of the bank’s economies of scale, resources, and innovative financing capabilities.”

Mr. Ricciardelli will start Tuesday and will report to Charles von Arentschildt, head of global finance at Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown.
