In Brief: Father Passes the Torch at Missouri’s UMB

KANSAS CITY, MO. — UMB Financial Corp. named a new chairman and chief executive officer Friday.

R. Crosby Kemper 3d will succeed his father, R. Crosby Kemper Jr., who will stay on as senior chairman and serve on the executive committee of the $7.9 billion banking company.

The younger Mr. Crosby, who is 50, has served as chairman and chief executive of UMB’s lead bank, UMB Bank, since March. He was previously president of UMB Bank St. Louis for six years.

The elder Mr. Crosby, 73, has been in banking for more than 50 years.
