In Brief: Federal Thrift Charter for Mont. Trust Firm

WASHINGTON - The Office of Thrift Supervision has granted a federal thrift charter to Great Falls, Mont.-based Dadco.

The company primarily offers investment products and services through its broker-dealer subsidiary, D.A. Davidson & Co., which operates in California, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. The agency approved Dadco's application to become a thrift holding company and consolidate two state-chartered trust companies into a new thrift called Davidson Trust Co.

Davidson Trust is to assume control of more than $880 million of trust accounts.
