John Hancock Financial Network announced Wednesday that it is establishing an agency in San Diego that will offer retirement plans; estate conservation; financial planning for small businesses, executives, individuals, and families; and long-term-care insurance for individuals and groups.
The office is headed by Scott Galbraith, a financial services field manager with more than 25 years of experience, and is expected to grow rapidly this year and next. has joined John Hancock to become Managing Partner of this agency, responsible for starting the firm and accelerating its growth, adding financial services professionals, and developing its clientele in the San Diego marketplace.
Mr. Galbraith, as managing partner, has hired an experienced management team, the Boston-based insurer said. He is to recruit six more people this year and hopes to double the agency’s size in 2007.
Hancock has more than 300 registered branch offices in the United States; it is a career agency distribution unit of Manulife Financial Corp., a Toronto-based insurer that managed $332 billion at June 30.
