Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. said Monday that it had put David S. De Berry in charge of claims at its Hartford Financial Products organization, which provides financial and professional insurance products.
Mr. De Berry, a vice president, ran the unit of Hartford Financial Products that oversees claims on behalf of investment banks, mutual funds, insurance companies and investment advisers.
In his new job he succeeded Joseph Monteleone, who has resigned to become a partner at the New York law firm Duane Morris LLP.
Mr. De Berry, who remains a vice president, will now manage all claims personnel and all claims arising under Hartford Financial Products’ insurance products, which include employment practices liability, fiduciary liability, and other management liability products.
He came to the company from Reliance Group Holdings in 2000, when The Hartford bought Reliance’s financial products business and its excess and surplus and inland marine insurance businesses. Initially he headed Hartford Financial Products’ transactional risk insurance division, which underwrites insurance for tax liability and specific litigation.
