In Brief: Illinois Bankers Hire S.D. Group's Executive

The Illinois Bankers Association has hired the executive vice president of the South Dakota Bankers Association to be its own.

Jeffrey J. Rodman starts this week in the Illinois group's top chief administrative position.

His predecessors worked out of its Chicago headquarters, but for the foreseeable future Mr. Rodman will be based in Springfield, the state capitol. John F. Timmer, a senior vice president at First National Bank of Chicago and president of the association, said it was important for Mr. Rodman to be in Springfield to learn about state matters.

The association plans "to focus more on educational programs" under Mr. Rodman's leadership, Mr. Timmer said, and on "the products and services that are used by our community banks."
