In Brief: Inviva Hires Marketing Chief for Life Units

Inviva Inc., a New York insurance holding company specializing in life insurance, annuities, and technology, said Monday that it had hired Dan Anderson to be director of financial institution and agency marketing.

Mr. Anderson is to oversee all aspects of nationwide sales and marketing of life insurance products in the financial institution and agency distribution channels by Inviva's two wholly owned subsidiaries, American Life Insurance Co. of New York and Jefferson National Life Insurance Co. As an officer of the company, he is to report directly to Inviva's president, Shane Gleeson.

With more than 19 years of experience in the insurance industry, Mr. Anderson has experience in wholesale distribution to independent agents, producer groups, wire houses, banks, and other financial institutions. Most recently, he was the executive vice president of national sales at Bisys, the New York provider of outsourcing to the financial services industry.

In 1987, Mr. Anderson founded the Insurance Exchange, a company specializing in the distribution of insurance products to more than 3,500 high-end agents targeting the affluent market. He served as executive director of the Insurance Exchange from its startup through its sale to Bisys in May 2001.
