Juniper Bank, a Wilmington, Del., unit of Britain's Barclays PLC, last week began issuing a Montana Democratic Party MasterCard.
Thirty-three other states' Democratic parties have similar cobranding arrangements. They receive $20 to $40 for each new account and one dollar for every $100 charged to the card.
"We just wanted to offer an easy way for our supporters to work with us without taking additional money out of their pockets," said Jessica Rhoades, the Montana Democratic Party's media director. She said the party hopes to raise $20,000 to $30,000 this year through the card.
The card bears the image of the American flag and a red, white, and blue donkey.
