LaSalle Bank Corp. of Chicago has licensed a portfolio of interactive-voice patents from Ronald A. Katz Technology Licensing LP.
Katz, of Los Angeles, announced the settlement Tuesday, but did not disclose the price paid by LaSalle, the U.S. subsidiary of ABN Amro Holding NV of Amsterdam.
Katz has been very aggressive about protecting its patents, and said that more than 150 companies have licensed its technologies, including financial companies such as American Express Co., Bank of America Corp., BB&T Corp., Capital One Services Inc., Equifax Inc., First Data Corp., First National Bank of Omaha, HSBC Bank USA, KeyCorp, Mellon Financial Corp., Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc., Wachovia Corp., and Wells Fargo & Co.
