In Brief: Lawyer Joins Pulse EFT as Counsel, VP

HOUSTON - Pulse EFT Association has named David R. Schneider, a former partner in the Houston office of the law firm Fulbright & Jaworski LLP, executive vice president and general counsel. He will join the company Sept. 1.

Stan Paur, president and chief executive officer of Pulse, said Mr. Schneider was hired to carry out a long-range plan for strategic growth that the association's board of directors has charted.

"Pulse has benefited from Dave Schneider's counsel for a number of years, and the addition of his expertise to the executive staff will be an invaluable asset as the association continues to expand its membership and services to meet the needs of financial institutions and the evolving electronic funds transfer marketplace," Mr. Paur said.

Mr. Schneider has 15 years of experience with electronic funds transfer networks and payments systems issues. He is an expert in federal and state regulation of financial institutions, and corporate and project finance. He graduated from Tulane University and the Georgetown University School of Law.

Pulse is one of the largest shared electronic funds transfer networks, serving more than 2,000 banks, credit unions, and thrifts. The system links an estimated 45 million cardholders with more than 46,000 ATMs and 271,000 point of sale terminals throughout the United States.
