In Brief: Llama Co., Boston Firm In Real Estate Venture

Boston Capital and Llama Co. have formed a joint venture with $100 million of capital to finance commercial real estate.

The venture, Boston Capital Mortgage Co., will originate loans and issue securities, which will be underwritten and distributed by Llama Co.

Boston Capital is a 20-year-old real estate investment firm that managed a $5 billion portfolio of properties throughout the United States.

Llama is an investment banking firm in Fayetteville, Ark., that was founded in 1988 by Alice Walton, daughter of retailer Sam Walton.
