PURCHASE, N.Y. - MasterCard International has appointed Lance Weaver, a senior vice president at MBNA Corp., chairman of its board, succeeding Donald Boudreau, who retired recently from J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., where he had been a vice chairman, the association said Thursday.
Mr. Weaver has been on MasterCard's board since 1997.
The company named Baldomero Falcones Jacquotot board vice chairman. He is director general of Banco Santander Central Hispano SA and has been on the MasterCard board for four years.
MasterCard also said that David Coulter, vice chairman of Morgan Chase and head of its retail business, joined the board, taking over Mr. Boudreau's seat. Also joining the board, which includes six U.S. bankers and nine international bankers, are Augusto M. Escalante Juanes, deputy president, consumer products and marketing at Banco Nacional de Mexico; and Jan A. M. Henrikx, chief executive officer of Eurocard's Euro Kartensysteme.
