NEW YORK - In an effort to boost its involvement in the agency market due to the growth of the sector, Chase Manhattan Corp. has hired Mark Mothner as a managing director to head trading and underwriting for government agencies.
Mr. Mothner is filling a newly created position, the firm said in a press release. He will report to Jonathan Gray, managing director and joins Chase from Merrill Lynch & Co., where he was a director in agency trading.
With the new addition, Chase now has four traders dedicated to the agency market, a Chase spokesman told Dow Jones Newswires.
