In Brief: Nationwide Retirement Plan Chief to Retire

Nationwide Financial Services Inc. has announced that Duane C. Meek, its senior vice president for retirement plans, will retire Dec. 31 and be succeeded by Bill Jackson, a vice president for internal sales and service.

Mr. Jackson is to take the reins of the retirement plans division Oct. 1, the company said on Thursday, and work with Mr. Meek through yearend.

Mr. Meek, 62, has worked 38 years at the Columbus, Ohio, insurer; he became senior vice president of retirement plans in 2004. Mr. Jackson began his Nationwide career as a financial planning analyst in 1984.
