In Brief: Northern Trust Hires Growth-Equity Exec

Northern Trust Corp. announced Thursday that it had named John Cole to head active-growth equity investments.

Mr. Cole is to be responsible for U.S. active-growth equity investments, including overseeing strategies for this asset group as well as managing a team of portfolio managers and analysts dedicated to growth equities.

He was a managing director and chief operating officer at Lincoln Equity Management LLC in Chicago.

At March 31, Northern Trust had $2.6 trillion of assets under custody and $589 billion under management.
