In Brief: N.Y. Life Asset Unit Hires Investing Exec

New York Life Investment Management said Monday that it had hired Jae Yoon to be a managing director of its investment consulting group.

The group independently measures investment performance of all the company's products. In addition, it gives the company's investment professionals and managers analysis of portfolio performance and risk.

Before joining New York Life, Mr. Yoon was the head of analytics and risk management at Western Asset Management, based first in London and later in Pasadena, Calif. At Western, he managed active risk in portfolios, developed and managed the quantitative analytics supporting investment activity, and advised the product development committee regarding fixed-income products.

With more than $189 billion of assets under management at Dec. 31, New York Life Investment Management and its affiliates provide investment services to institutional, individual, corporate, public, and Taft-Hartley clients, including institutional asset management, retail investments, retirement services, guaranteed products, real estate investments, and alternative investments.
