In Brief: N.Y.'s Roslyn Buying Deposits from Dime

Roslyn Bancorp on New York's Long Island has reached an agreement to buy $19 million of deposits from Dime Savings Bank of Williamsburg in Brooklyn.

Roslyn, the $7.6 billion-asset parent of Roslyn Savings Bank, said it would pay a 7% premium for the deposits. It operates 26 branches on Long Island and in New York City.

Dime is a $2.1 billion-asset thrift with 19 offices.
