In Brief: Pa. Bank Agrees to Buy 8 National City Sites

Northwest Savings Bank, Warren, Pa., said it plans to buy eight branches from Cleveland's National City Corp. for an undisclosed sum.

The branches are in six western Pennsylvania counties and have total deposits of $198 million. Their employees would go on the payroll at $2.5 billion-asset Northwest Savings. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter.
