MENLO PARK, Calif. E-Trade Group has agreed to supply financial content for PlanetOut, an online portal for gay men and women.
E-Trade is to provide content for Money Channel, an area on PlanetOuts Web site that includes financial charts and information. E-Trade also is to work with PlanetOut to create a newsletter on personal financial management for the portals 750,000 registered users.
The agreement gives E-Trade the opportunity to promote its brand to an important market, said Michael Sievert, chief sales and marketing officer at E-Trade. With an average household income of $60,000, PlanetOut customers are three times as likely as other people to have a 401(k) account, money market fund, or a mutual fund, he said.
