Principal Financial Group in Des Moines said Wednesday that it had promoted Carey Jury, Tim Minard, and Deanna Strable-Soethout to senior vice president.
Mr. Jury was named the senior vice president of health, succeeding Gary Cain who recently retired. He is responsible for group medical insurance. He has worked at Principal since 1988. In 1999 he became senior global expansion manager and managing director as leader of the company's Australia acquisition strategy; he also was named an executive vice president of the Australian subsidiary before returning to the United States in 2000.
Mr. Minard was appointed the senior vice president of retirement distribution. He joined the company in 1986 and most recently was national sales director of retirement services.
Ms. Strable-Soethout was named the senior vice president of specialty benefits; she is responsible for the group life, disability, dental, vision, and individual disability lines of business. She started with the company in 1990 and most recently was a vice president of disability.
