NEW YORK - Bowne & Co., the world's largest financial printing company, has renamed its Internet division from Bowne Internet Solutions to Immersant.
Three years ago, 225-year-old Bowne & Co. merged five Web development companies to create Bowne Internet Solutions. Some of the division's clients are Bank One Corp., Deutsche Bank, FleetBoston Financial Corp., Summit Bank, and Unibanco.
Bowne & Co. says the name Immersant better reflects the unit's ability to immerse itself into complex business issues found in technically challenging markets, like financial services. It is expanding into other markets, like insurance and dot-com companies.
Immersant's Web site has been redesigned to reflect the new brand. The unit employs 250 people in seven offices across North and Latin America.
