In Brief: Putnam Adds Global Core Equity Manager

Putnam Investments said Monday that it had hired Bradford S. Greenleaf to be a managing director and portfolio manager of its global core equity fund.

Mr. Greenleaf was the director of international equities at Independence Investment LLC, where he managed portfolios based on a quantitative investment process. He began his career as an investment officer at Franklin Portfolio Associates.

He is to be responsible for portfolio construction on the global core equity team. At Jan. 31 Putnam managed $204 billion of assets; its mutual fund assets were $138 billion and institutional assets $66 billion.
