In Brief: Salomon Advisory Panel Taps Ex-Senator

NEW YORK - John C. Danforth, a former U.S. Senator from Missouri, has joined the international advisory board of Salomon Smith Barney, a Citigroup Inc. unit.

Mr. Danforth, a partner at the law firm of Bryan Cave LLP, has filled one of the vacancies on the board created when Donald Rumsfeld was appointed Secretary of Defense and Richard Cheney was elected Vice President. Former Treasury Secretary Robert E. Rubin is the interim chairman of the board, which acts as a senior advisory panel on international investment banking issues.
