In Brief: Stewart Deal Extends E-Realty Transactions

Stewart Transaction Solutions Inc. said Monday that it had bought the majority of Reveal Systems Inc. in order to extend the line of electronic forms offered through its title insurance, mortgage, and real estate transaction business.

The unit of Stewart Information Services Corp. in Houston said Reveal's electronic title documents would complement its own set of services that let borrowers close loans online using electronic signatures and other tools.

Travis Wright, the president of Stewart Transaction Solutions, said in a press release that the addition of Reveal's online services "will move the industry even closer to the end-to-end electronic real estate transaction."

Stewart did not say precisely how much of Reveal, a Longmont, Colo., company, it had bought or how much it paid.

Last month, Stewart bought Formulator, a desktop forms application, and WebForms, an Internet-based version of the product, from Realigent Inc., an Irvine, Calif., real estate software and technology services company.
