TD Ameritrade Holding Corp. has promoted executives to chief financial officer and operations chief in what it said was part of a series of management changes designed to increase sales.
Bill Gerber was named chief financial officer, and Randy MacDonald was named chief operating officer, the Omaha company said on Thursday. The appointments took effect after the close of the company's fiscal year on Friday.
The online brokerage also named Chris Armstrong, previously head of sales and marketing, as chief strategy officer, responsible for marketing, client communications, and mergers and acquisitions. Asiff Hirji was named president of TD Ameritrade's client group, where he is responsible for the retail and institutional businesses as well as the retail distribution network. Mr. Hirji previously led technology, operations, and business development.
