In Brief: Three States Appoint Top Bank Regulators

State banks in Alabama, Delaware, and Minnesota are all answering to new regulators.

In Alabama, Gov. Don Siegelman appointed Norman B. Davis Jr. to be superintendent of banks. Mr. Davis was senior vice president of the public finance department at National Bank of Commerce in Birmingham.

Robert Glen was named state bank commissioner in Delaware by Gov. Thomas R. Carper. Mr. Glen, a former deputy bank commissioner for supervisory affairs, had been acting bank commissioner since Jan. 1.

In Minnesota, Gov. Jesse Ventura last week appointed David Jennings to oversee the state's bank. Mr. Jennings, a former state legislator, had been vice president of Schwan's Sales Enterprises Inc. and speaker of the Minnesota House from 1985 to 1987.
