HomeSide Appoints Fla. Servicing Chief

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - HomeSide Lending Inc. has promoted Irma Marshall to manager of its Jacksonville servicing operation.She succeeds Tanya Mayne, who was recently named director of HomeSide's European operations.

Ms. Marshall, a senior vice president, has been with HomeSide for five years. Most recently, she oversaw its servicing acquisitions and sales.

She reports to William Glasgow, executive vice president of global loan administration.

HomeSide, a unit of National Australia Bank, also has a servicing center in San Antonio. The company services $145 billion of loans.


Oct. Originations Fall At Unit of Resource

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Resource Bancshares Mortgage Group last week said it originated $592.3 million of loans in October, down 59% from the year before. Subprime mortgage production was off 3.6%, at $60 million.In the 10 months that ended Oct. 31, Resource originated $8.5 billion of loans, down 37% from the year earlier, but subprime production in this period was $612.2 million, up 27%.

On Oct. 31, Resource had $800 million of agency-eligible loans in its pipeline, down 62% from a year earlier.

Its servicing portfolio was $8.3 billion, down 22%.
