Deutsche Bank Names Chief Of Global Cash Management

NEW YORK - Deutsche Bank has named Larry Klane head of its global cash management services group.He succeeds David Hinds, who is retiring after a 30-year banking career.

Mr. Klane, whom Mr. Hinds recommended as his successor, will oversee cash management worldwide and will be based in New York. He will report to Jim Zeigon, chief executive officer of Deutsche Bank's Global Institutional Services.

Mr. Klane had been the head of the corporate trust and agency services business since 1997. In 1994, he joined Bankers Trust, which merged with Deutsche Bank last year. Before his career in banking, Mr. Klane held executive positions at Walt Disney Co., William Kent International, and Booz-Allen & Hamilton Inc.


Entrust, IBM Sign Pact to Boost Security of Wireless Applications

PLANO, Tex. - Entrust Technologies Inc. has signed an agreement with IBM Global Services to bring increased security to wireless software applications for the business-to-business and business-to-consumer markets.IBM consultants will have access to Entrust's public key infrastructure, or PKI, data encryption techniques, certification programs, and marketing and technical support. Entrust will train and certify IBM Global Services' e-business staff, which consists of more than 100 consultants, in North America, Europe, and Asia.

Entrust announced in November that it was working with several of its customers and licensees - including 724 Solutions Inc., a developer of banking software for wireless devices - to adapt its security for wireless e-commerce.
