Key’s Investment Unit Names Strategy Chief

Key Asset Management, the investment arm of Cleveland-based KeyCorp, appointed Richard J. Nash chief market strategist last week.Mr. Nash, 34, was a first vice president and director of the portfolio strategies group for KeyCorp’s brokerage and investment banking subsidiary, McDonald Investments Inc. He succeeds Charles G. Crane, who returned to his former post as a portfolio manager and analyst at another KeyCorp subsidiary, the asset management firm Spears Benzak Salomon & Farrell.


Chase to Start Its First Technology Portfolio

Chase Manhattan Corp. is adding a technology mutual fund to its Vista Funds family.The H&Q Global Technology Fund is to be sold to brokers beginning June 1 and to retail investors July 1. The fund is Chase’s first technology portfolio will be subadvised by Chase’s asset management arm. Chase H&Q, a San Francisco investment bank that Chase bought last year, is to do investment research for the fund.
