UMB Asset Management said Wednesday that it had hired Patrick Dunkerley to be a senior vice president and midcap portfolio manager.

He is to lead the asset management arm of Kansas City, Mo.'s, UMB Financial Corp. in introducing a midcap strategy for institutional investors, the company said.
Mr. Dunkerley most recently was a chief investment officer and managing director at Victory Capital Management, where he was lead portfolio manager of the mid-cap core team and the Victory Special Value Fund.
