In Brief: Unisys Posts Loss, Cutting 10% of Jobs

A year earlier Unisys had reported income of $25.2 million.

Revenue fell 4%, to $1.39 billion.

Last week Unisys warned investors that it was expecting to report a loss, but it said its results were not as bad as the 17 cent loss a share that Wall Street had been expecting.

The company said it plans to divest "nonstrategic" business units and to cut staff in several areas, including services delivery, research and development, and administration. It expects the restructuring to generate $250 million of annual savings by the end of 2007, but it said it would take $250 million to $300 million of charges next year.
