In Brief: U.S. Bank Launches Fry Food Stores Card

MINNEAPOLIS - U.S. Bank has begun issuing cobranded Visa cards for Fry Food Stores Inc. of Phoenix, a division of Kroger Co., the country's largest supermarket operator.

The credit cards double as reward cards, allowing customers to accumulate points toward gifts such as grocery vouchers. In addition, companies such as American Airlines, AMC Theatres, and Red Lobster are offering gift certificates redeemable for card points.

When the card is used at a Fry's store, the customer gets two points for every dollar spent. An annual fee is waived if the card is used more than three times a year. Applications are available at all Fry's stores, which serve four million Arizona customers every week.
