In Brief: VerticalOne Program Goes Up Down Under

ATLANTA - VerticalOne has installed account aggregation software at AMP Inc. of Australia, its first international customer.

The bank and VerticalOne had been developing the Account Minder service for several weeks and timed its introduction to coincide with the beginning of the Olympics, said John Casson, vice president of international operations at Vertical One.

The aggregation company expects to make announcements with three other Australian companies within the next six weeks and will announce partners in the United Kingdom in November, Mr. Casson said.

"Australia and the U.K. seem to have a thirst to be second in technology straight after America," he said. "They are in a similar mindset with U.S. banks, and when we went down to talk to them about our service, they were very well informed."

Account Minder is available free to AMP's 10 million customers. It lets them view accounts from 24 of the top account providers in Australia, including bank, credit card, and brokerage accounts.
