Wachovia Securities said Tuesday that it will combine its fixed-income and credit capital markets units in a single division on Jan. 1.
The new unit will be headed by Ben Williams, who has been the head of Wachovia's fixed-income division since August of last year. Mr. Williams will report to Barnes Hauptfuhrer and Steve Cummings, the co-heads of Wachovia Securities (the brand name that Wachovia Corp., of Charlotte, uses for its investment banking and brokerage units).
Curtis Arledge, a managing director at Wachovia Securities and the deputy head of fixed income, will become the head of fixed income. He will report to Mr. Williams, as will Julie Bouhuys, a managing director and the head of credit capital markets, who has reported directly to Mr. Cummings and Mr. Hauptfuhrer.
