In Brief: Wells Exec Named Tech Group President

CHICAGO — The Financial Services Technology Consortium has named Garrett Macey, a business architect at Wells Fargo & Co.’s payment strategy group, president for 2000-2001.

The consortium, a nonprofit that aims to foster collaborative research and development of technology projects that could benefit the financial services industry, also named three other officers. Alan Slater, a vice president at Citibank who is in charge of developing user authentication and payment mechanisms for Internet use, became vice president. Parker Foley, a vice president of certification authority at First Union National Bank, became treasurer.
