In Brief: Wells Upgrades Brokerage Account

SAN FRANCISCO — Wells Fargo & Co. has introduced an upgraded version of its WellsChoice brokerage account that offers advice from a financial consultant. The WellsChoice account was introduced in 1998. The new version, which was rolled out Wednesday, adds the ability to trade and invest online.

The account requires a minimum investment of $50,000 and charges a single fee, based on the value of securities in the Wells asset management or retirement account. There are no transaction fees.
