The most recent potential blackeye involves B of A’s prime brokerageunit. A report in the New York Postsaid federal authorities were lookinginto B of A’s relationship with LancerGroup, a hedge fund shut down bythe SEC last year and whosefounder, Michael Lauer, faces acriminal investigation.
A B of A spokesman declined tocomment Thursday, except to saythe prime brokerage unit “hasalways conducted itself professionally,appropriately, and in accordancewith industry standards.”
