Ingenico Ups Stake in Mobile Payments Provider

Payments hardware company Ingenico S.A. announced Thursday it has taken a controlling interest in Roam Data of Boston.

Ingenico has had a 43% stake in ROAM since 2009.

Roam produces a mobile commerce platform that includes a hardware reader, software and services.

Roam's reader supports multiple device operating systems, including Google Inc.'s Android, Research in Motion's Blackberry, and Apple Inc.'s iOS.

Roam's customers include First Data Corp., Global Payments Inc., Intuit Inc., and Sage Software Inc.
