The French terminal maker Ingenico SA is working with iMobile3 LLC to promote mobile retail payments through a collaboration called iMRP.
The companies will provide consulting and support around a range of products designed to help merchants develop mobile payment strategies. Ingenico said Wednesday that it is working with iMobile3 of Jacksonville, Fla., to place consultants inside retailers.
"It's not as if we are going to start billing [retailers] for hours, it's not about that," says Greg Burch, Ingenico's director of business development for the Americas, in a phone interview Friday. "We will sit down and just start working around a mobile strategy and figure out what components make sense for them."
