Internet Payment Exchange Offers Payroll Deduction for Health Care

Internet Payment Exchange Inc. announced Thursday that it is offering a payroll deduction feature for some users of its ePayPoint Cash Receipts Service, a point of sale service for health-care providers that collects all types of patient and nonpatient payments through a single system.

The payroll deduction feature lets hospital workers who get services where they work set up the automated deductions, bypassing the need for large health-care networks to process the deductions manually for employees, the Toledo company said.

The system treats payroll deductions like cash, check or credit card payments, entering them automatically into both the hospital's general ledger and the patient accounting system. Payroll deductions also can be used as wallet accounts for setting up automatic payment plans, the company said.
