Intrust Bank in Wichita, Kan., has promoted its longtime chief operating officer to become its president.
Jay Smith will succeed Charlie Chandler, who will remain the $4.3 billion-asset bank's chairman and chief executive, the Wichita Eagle
"As time has gone on, Jay has taken on greater and greater responsibility for a variety of areas," Chandler told the Wichita Eagle. "This was a natural progression."
Intrust has 48 branches in Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. The bank earned $8.9 million last year, according to a regulatory filing.
