Jack Henry & Associates Inc. is trying to make remote capture services more appealing to small merchants by introducing a program that lets its bank and credit union clients lease the equipment to their customers.
The Monett, Mo., banking technology company said that under the equipment leasing program announced Thursday, Jack Henry will take on responsibility for delivering and supporting the hardware to merchants, with fees starting at about $15 per month.
Jack Henry said that most remote capture services require merchants to buy scanners and banks often end up fielding customer service inquiries when the devices have problems.
