Three more financial companies have licensed a patent portfolio for interactive voice systems from Ronald A. Katz Technology Licensing LP of Los Angeles.
The licensing company announced the nonexclusive agreements Wednesday with National City Corp. of Cleveland, Regions Financial Corp. of Birmingham, Ala., and New York Life Insurance Co. It did not provide the value of the contracts.
Katz has a long history of filing patent-infringement lawsuits over its call center technology, which is protected by more than 50 patents.
More than 150 companies have reached similar licensing agreements, including Countrywide Financial Corp., Zions Bancorp., American Express Co., Bank of America Corp., and Wells Fargo & Co.
