Kenneth Miller Is Elected President of United Carolina

Kenneth L. Miller Jr. has been elected president of United Carolina Bancshares, Whiteville, and its North Carolina bank subsidiary, United Carolina Bank.

Mr. Miller, who has been executive vice president in charge of banking services for the corporation, and the bank will add oversight of human resources, staff support, trust, and related financial services to his responsibilities.

He succeeds E. Rhone Sasser, who will continue as chairman and chief executive of the holding company and the bank.

Mr. Miller joined United Carolina Bank in 1982 as the senior vice president and North Carolina western region executive in Charlotte after 14 years in banking. He moved to the Whiteville headquarters in 1986 as executive vice president of North Carolina banking.
