Industrial Bank of Korea in Seoul has agreed to use security cards from Innovative Card Technologies Inc. to authenticate its employees, the Los Angeles security technology vendor announced Thursday.

Industrial Bank plans to distribute 12,000 of the cards, which feature a small screen that displays a one-time password, offering multifactor authentication capabilities.
Innovative Card Technologies said that the cards will be provided by its Seoul reseller Innet Co. Ltd. Industrial Bank of Korea will be the first bank in the region to use the cards for protecting its data network, the vendor said; two financial companies are using or planning to use the cards for authenticating consumers that want to access online banking sites.
