Both organizations help clients in the bank brokerage and insurance sectors to improve sales performance, and they have collaborated since 1999 in publishing the annual Kehrer-Limra Bank Life Insurance Sales Study.

The Kehrer firm in Princeton, N.J., is to operate as a Limra subsidiary called Kehrer-Limra, with its own financial structure, the companies said. They did not disclose the deal price.

The new unit will continue to sell the benchmarking, research, and consulting services related to bank sales of life insurance, annuities, investment products, and wealth management services that have been Kenneth Kehrer Associates' stock in trade. Mr. Kehrer founded his firm in 1985.

Founded by the life insurance industry in 1916, Limra, formerly the Life Insurance Marketing and Research Association, has been steadily expanding its membership into other financial sectors, including banking and brokerage.

Mr. Kehrer is to join Limra as a member of the Kehrer-Limra board of directors and serve as a consultant to the Limra subsidiary.

Limra International in Windsor, Conn., is a worldwide research, consulting, and performance improvement organization that helps more than 800 insurance and financial services companies in 60 countries increase their marketing and distribution effectiveness.
