Men are from Egypt, women are from Disney World.

That's the case according to an online survey by Royal Bank of Canada of more than 1,500 Canadian rewards cardholders who were asked what tourist destination they would most like to visit.

The Great Pyramids are popular with both sexes, but they caught the eye of more men (28%) than women (25%). Disney World was the top choice for 18% of women and just 12% of men.

Among cities around the world, Honolulu was the top travel choice for those from the Great White North, according to the survey. Go figure.

RBC is hyping the benefits of free travel using credit card rewards points.

"Using your rewards card for travel is a simple way to defray vacation expenses as family budgets tighten and affordability concerns arise," said Donna Lue-Atkinson, vice president of global loyalty programs and rewards for RBC, in a press release.

The bank also provides would-be travelers with several handy tips for racking up rewards points (and thus bank revenue through increased consumer spending) more quickly: stick to one or two rewards programs, set up automatic payments for monthly bills with your card and keep an eye out for bonus offers and promotions.
