Magna Group Inc. Names Executive

Magna Group Inc., St. Louis, promoted Ronald A. Buerges, executive vice president and chief financial officer, to the newly created post of senior executive vice president.

He is now responsible for daily operations.

Mr. Buerges was succeeded by Robert S. Kahler, who had been executive vice president of financial markets. Earlier, Mr. Kahler was chief financial officer at Homeland Bankshares, which Magna bought in March.

Gary Hemmer, executive vice president of administration, succeeded Mr. Kahler in financial markets. He is now responsible for strategic planning and management of nontraditional financial markets initiatives.

Magna also hired Bradford W. Koeneman as executive vice president of investor relations and marketing. Mr. Koeneman had worked as vice president in both the equities and fixed-income divisions at Goldman, Sachs & Co.'s Memphis office. Before that he was marketing director for the Magna Bank branch in Belleville, Ill.
