The New York payment software maker Striata Inc. said it has developed a system to convert paper marketing materials into electronic messages that can be delivered to people who pay their bills online.
The messages are delivered within the confirmation e-mails sent after a payment is made online, Striata said Wednesday.
The materials can be tailored for individual recipients, and people are likely to read the ads because they are expecting to receive the e-mail messages, the vendor said.
"Unlike paper-based offers, billers can accurately track which offers were clicked on, when, how many times, and by which customers," Mia Papanicolaou, Striata's head of e-marketing, said in a press release.
