MasterCard Offers T&E Service

MasterCard Inc. announced an alliance Monday to offer a travel and expense management service using technology from CyberShift Inc. in Parsippany, N.J.

MasterCard, the Purchase, N.Y., card network, said it would play host to CyberShift's Expense Management Automation system so that corporate clients using its cards could monitor and manage spending by their employees.

The Cybershift system offers open integration to travel booking systems of the company's choice, travel and spending analysis, support for BlackBerry smart phones and digital receipt filing, MasterCard said.

"The combined features of this offering enable corporate customers to gain greater spend visibility, increase employee efficiency and monitor compliance with travel policies," said Steve Abrams, MasterCard's group executive of global commercial products, in the company's press release.

MasterCard said the service targets the middle market but that banks could also offer it to large, even multinational, organizations.
